Launched in 2025 from Homes & Gardens in partnership with Little Greene, Next in Design aims to redefine the design industry by creating a platform for under-the-radar designers from diverse backgrounds across the UK. With an ambition to build a more open design community, Next in Design draws upon the experience of established industry figures who are passionate about creating a brighter and more dynamic future for interior design.

The key objective is to create connection, bringing together established names and emerging names to provide opportunity for growth and learning on all levels. You can sign up to a weekly Next in Design newsletter to hear the latest industry news and receive invitations to workshops and masterclasses.

The cornerstone of this initiative is Next in Design 25, an annual showcase of 25 undiscovered designers from across the UK. The designers will be chosen by a board of six industry luminaries, including Little Greene’s Creative Director, Ruth Mottershead. The members of this group bring rich and varied insight to inform and shape the Next in Design initiative, with each one looking for something unique within the entries.

Next in Design was officially launched at a breakfast attended by many established names in the industry, including the six board members. Ruth and Sarah both gave inspiring presentations about their vision for the new initiative, and the values they are looking to uphold.
