Our collaboration with Jo Malone London is all about discovering exactly what mood you are seeking for your home, providing harmonious colour and fragrance pairings to curate your chosen atmosphere.

@mrsjessdaines drew inspiration from the ‘joyful & inviting’ mood of the English Pear & Freesia candle to refresh her living room with our elegant warm neutral, Silent White. With softly spoken warmth, this light and understated hue evokes a timeless, comforting ambience for a living room that invites you inside.

Why do you feel it’s important to think about mood when designing your home?

“Ultimately, we spend a lot of time at home, so it’s a crucial part of planning to think about how the different rooms are used and how you’d want that space to make you feel and enhance your life – whether that’s a sense of calm, a sense of restfulness, or sparking joy with an unexpected pop of colour.”

Which mood and atmosphere did you want to create in your living room? What made Silent White the perfect shade to achieve this?

“For me, it’s really important that our living room reflects a calm, cosy and welcoming space, helping to ease the pressures and stresses that everyday life can bring.

After the build of our extension, our living room really opened up and there was so much more natural light shining through. Whilst I loved all the newfound brightness, I still wanted to keep the space feeling cosy. Silent White was the perfect choice in helping to achieve this, as it brings a warmth and softness which provides the perfect canvas for the rest of the furniture and features of the room.”

How did combining colour with a complementary Jo Malone London fragrance enhance this space, and why did you choose this particular pairing?

“Home fragrance is a really important aspect of a home, and really helps to enhance the feel you’re trying to create. As our living, dining and kitchen space flow together, English Pear & Freesia was the perfect scent to gently fill the air with a joyful, fresh and inviting fragrance.”

Discover the fragrance…

Jo Malone London’s English Pear & Freesia candle pairs the mellow freshness of pear with a delicate floral element. This combination creates a soft and elegant fragrance, perfect for rooms where you’re seeking a joyful and inviting feel. For a complementary design scheme, we’ve selected our family of warm whites, Silent White, along with the beautiful botanical wallpaper, Great Ormond Street.

Inspired by our collaboration with Jo Malone London, how would you describe the mood in your home? Can you tell us your top three interior design tips to create schemes with this mood?

“I believe you can tell a lot from first impressions of a home, and scent is such a powerful way to set the tone of a room. I think my home evokes feelings of comfort, cosiness, relaxation and contentment. To curate this mood, I use a cocooning, tonal colour palette, layered natural, textured accessories and atmospheric lighting.”
