Help us to support Breast Cancer Awareness charities

To increase our annual donations to breast cancer charities, simply make a purchase during the month of October. Whether you buy online or in-store, we’ll make a donation for every single tin of paint and roll of wallpaper that we sell.

Taking part in the campaign won’t cost you any extra. We pledge 15p from the sale of every tin of paint and roll of wallpaper to our chosen charities.

A charity partnership close to our hearts

A family-run business, we work closely with charities and partners that mean a lot to us. We’re committed to supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month every year. We promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month through our London showrooms, via our UK-based stockists, and online at littlegreene.com.

Little Greene also supports breast cancer charities in Ireland, Holland, France, Germany, Italy and Sweden.

"It’s a real privilege to be able to support this wonderful group of charities up and down the country. They offer the much-needed help for those affected by breast cancer. Whilst there are several charitable organisations doing exceptional work raising funds for cancer research, our focus with this campaign is to ensure no-one goes through treatment without somewhere to turn to for emotional support. Aided by our fantastic stockists and customers nationwide, I’m confident we will have another hugely successful year raising funds for these precious services."

Little Greene & Breast Cancer Haven celebrate transformation of the support centre

The charities we support during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Charities we have been delighted to support include:

  • Breast Cancer Haven
  • The Christie Charitable Fund
  • Keeping Abreast
  • Breast Cancer Unit Appeal - Yeovil Hospital Charity
  • The Breast Cancer Action Group (Wolverhampton and District)

As well as donating proceeds from our sales each year, we have also donated physical resources to some of these charities. We pledged more than 200 litres of paint to transform a support centre for Breast Cancer Haven and also donated paint to renovate Future Dreams House, a breast cancer support centre based in London.

Our charities for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2022

Over the past several years Little Greene has raised over £150,000 in support of breast cancer charities, donating proceeds from the sale of every tin of paint and roll of wallpaper sold throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. In 2022, we pledged a minimum donation of £20,000 to our four selected charities: The Christie Charitable Fund, Keeping Abreast, Yeovil Hospital Charity and Flat Friends.

Charitable giving during COVID-19

Little Greene’s Creative Director Ruth Mottershead shared:

“We feel passionately about supporting Breast Cancer Haven’s invaluable work, especially at such a tough time both economically and emotionally.”

Matt Jameson - Fundraising Manager Yorkshire at Breast Cancer Haven adds:

“The support we receive from Little Greene is invaluable, not only providing emergency funds during the Covid 19 pandemic but also committing to organising its own fundraising events going forward. Without the incredible relationship we have with the company we wouldn’t be able to be there for people living with breast cancer right now. We’ve now made our services virtual so you can still get the vital breast cancer support you need, even if you can’t leave your house."

Little Greene & Breast Cancer Haven, 2010-2019

Breast Cancer Haven is a charity that supports women through their breast cancer treatment. It provides tailored packages of emotional, physical and practical support that help women through this difficult time. Every £1000 raised provides a 10-week course of treatment.

Collaborating for almost a decade, Little Greene and Breast Cancer Haven joined forces to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness month.

With centres in London, Hereford, Yorkshire, Wessex and Worcester, Breast Cancer Haven is the only national breast cancer charity that provides one to-one support to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by breast cancer. Working alongside the NHS, Breast Cancer Haven offers a free, integrated breast cancer support service and a telephone service for patients unable to travel to one of their centres. Trained therapists, counsellors and advisers are on hand to listen to individual patients and provide them with bespoke practical, emotional and physical support.

Since opening, Breast Cancer Haven has provided over 230,000 appointments and has helped over 34,000 visitors.

Matt Jameson - Fundraising Manager Yorkshire at Breast Cancer Haven adds:

“The support we receive from Little Greene is invaluable, without the incredible relationship we have with the company we wouldn’t be able to be there for people living with breast cancer right now. This collaboration really does show that working together in a productive and positive way makes such a big difference to people’s lives: we can’t thank Little Greene enough!”

The Confetti Ball, 2018

200 guests attended our Confetti Ball at The Monastery in Manchester to support Breast Cancer Haven.

The evening began with a drinks reception and acoustic entertainment before flamingos on stilts lead guests through to The Monastery for a three course dinner.

The Brothers of Swing serenaded guests throughout dinner before a live charity auction was held featuring football memorabilia, dining experiences and even a day with our Managing Director, David Mottershead.

Paint it Pink, October 2017

“What better way to support a charity and raise awareness than to pick a shade of pink to brighten up your home? Last year our loyal customers raised just over £12,000 for the charity – and I’m completely confident that we’ll beat that record total this year. Pink is such a joyous colour that imbues the home with a sense of life and wellbeing – the same focus that Breast Cancer Haven adopts to help improve the quality of life those affected by cancer. Breast Cancer Haven provides free personalised care and support for patients nationally and the funds Little Greene helps raise make a significant difference.”

Managing Director David Mottershead

Pamela Healy OBE, Breast Cancer Haven’s Chief Executive adds: “This is the seventh time we have worked with Little Greene and we are thrilled that the company has once again chosen us as the charity to benefit from its support during Breast Cancer Awareness month. We receive no Government funding, so every penny raised is hard won and spent wisely on life-changing and life-affirming services. Pink is the colour of the moment, so update your home all the while knowing that you’re supporting a fantastic charity. Paint it pink in October!”

Transforming The Safe Haven, 2015

In 2015, we were delighted to collaborate with breast cancer support charity, The Haven on the development of their fourth regional centre in Titchfield, Hampshire.

Founded in 1997, the charity offers one-to-one specialist care to breast cancer patients through their free services including counselling and complementary therapies. At the time, there was no other breast cancer support service in the region, so the charity hoped to help the 2,700 women treated for the disease each year in Wessex hospitals.

We supplied 200 litres of paint to the grade II listed property which now offers support to nearly 3,000 breast cancer patients in the region. The Haven’s interior design team selected a range of neutral shades including, Clay Mid, Stock Mid and Creamerie, the richest of cream colours.

The renovations to the listed property included a reception area, library, group therapy space, kitchen and four one-to-one therapy rooms. The outdoor space also became a relaxing visitor garden.

Pamela Healy OBE, The Haven’s chief executive, said:

“Friday will mark an extremely positive milestone for our Wessex Haven and we can’t wait to open the doors to provide our tailored, one-to-one support for breast cancer patients in the area, as well as their family and friends.”
