Hello and welcome to Little Greene's bloggers’ competition where we’re celebrating 20th Century design. This is your opportunity to win yourself a genuine design classic - the Eames DSW chair from 1950.
Our recent research into authentic paint colours from the 1950s, 60s and 70s made us think about the huge impact of changing materials, technology and manufacturing techniques on the shape of modern design.
We want to hear about those products or objects, from any period in the 20th Century, that, in your eyes, remain classic designs; pieces as relevant to the 21st Century as the day they were just a concept pencil drawing or model in the workshop...
How to Enter
See below for how to enter in 3 easy steps.
1. You write a blog post on your favourite piece of 20th Century design, which includes a picture of the piece
2. Add the following caption anywhere within your post:
"This is my entry into Little Greene's 20th Century Design competition. Find out more at: http://www.littlegreene.com/retro"
(note: website link has to be active)
3. Post it on your blog.
4. Tweet it using the hashtag "#retropaints" (example - "I've just entered my favourite design classic to Little Greene's blogger's competition <link> #retropaints")
The winner will be the blogger who has submitted the best post (as judged by Little Greene's design team) and will win a genuine Eames DSW chair (made by Vitra) in the colour of their choice.
Three runners up will receive a Moleskine sketchbook.
The competition has now closed.
