The new Little Greene colour chart has arrived. It combines our three previous collections on one card – 164 classic and contemporary colours in total, including authentic English Heritage shades from all the key periods of interior design of the last 300 years, from the Georgian era to the 1970s.

There is a clever feature on the card which we have have described as ‘flying paint chips’.

Until you get your hands on one, it’s not immediately obvious what this means, but it’s a really neat way for you to compare paint colours to fabrics, wallpapers, and other paint colours – without forcing you to see them surrounded by a white background. Here’s a video to whet your appetite:

As always, the paint chips are our actual paint (not a matched ink – so they are 100% accurate for colour and finish), and we’ll post you one for free – just fill in your details here and we’ll pop one in the post along with our full product brochure.

Happy colour choosing!

Little Greene’s environmentally friendly paints and wallpapers were once again chosen to decorate the ‘Prince’s House’ at this year’s Ideal Home Show. The Prince of Wales made a very special personal visit to the Little Greene stand to take a closer look at our paints and papers. Managing director David Mottershead introduced the prince to our most recent wallpaper collections ’50s Line’ and ‘Retrospective Papers’.

Delighted with the royal visit, David said “The prince was genuinely interested in the new wallpaper collections and particularly referred to the methods of printing and the environmental credentials of the collections.”
The philosophy of the low- energy Prince’s House is to use materials of the highest quality and craftsmanship, made in the UK. The Arts & Crafts interior used a palette of thirteen beautiful Little Greene shades based on a range of neutral colours to give a sense of flow through the house. We are delighted to have been chosen for the project for the second year and to sit alongside the other companies with the same shared values.

Another legendary painting tip from Little Greene MD David Mottershead

Holland is one of our strongest export markets and our list of supporters grows and grows. New stockist Mr Robert Lentelink is mad about paint, mad about everything English and mad about Little Greene. His beautiful new shop, “Lentelink de verf & behangspecialist” in Hengevelde is full of bright ideas and neutral solutions – a great place to choose colours.

MD David was so delighted to be picked up in this rather nice old Hackney carriage in Mid Bronze Greene and complementary Little Greene livery that he gave an uncustomary extra tip – “remember to drive on the left when we get through the tunnel”

Our resident technical expert donned a different hat yesterday, having been invited to speak to students at St Wilfrid’s Primary School near our head office in Manchester.

Thanks to the staff and students at St Winfred’s, and to Colin for taking some time out of his schedule to inspire the next generation of scientists (and artists!).
